In this virtual world, i.e. internet, its a mandatory for all users to stay safe all the time... Hackers and many others (including spammers, scammers, frauds) are out there to steal your personal info...
So I guess u all should know how to avoid it ... Actually this is a special technique used by hackers to trap people... Its none but Social Engineering...
There numerous ways to detect fake sites or emails, phishing, etc. Here are 9 you should know about:
1. Incorrect URL :-
Hackers use fake sites to steal your information. Watch to make sure the URL is actually the one you want to be going to— if you notice the URL is different, that’s a good indication that the site is fake and you should NOT enter your information.2. Identifying different signs :-
Some sites which are subject to phishing, cannot adjust their screensize to your default screen size. Some of them may not be translated even, eg-if you have Google auto translate on, a phished page when in other languages, shows up "Oops, this page cannot be translated"... Beware of those...3. Nosy Requests :-
Your bank won’t ask via email for your PINs or card information. Be suspicious of sites (or emails) requesting your Social Security number, identification number or other sensitive information.4. Misspellings or grammatical errors :-
These are another sure sign that the message or site is fake.Fake Password. If you’re at a fake site and type in a phony password, a fake site is likely to accept it.
5. Low Resolution Images:-
A tip-off to a false site is poor image quality of the company’s logo or other graphics.6. Check email sender's address :-
If the link has been sent by some person through email, check his email properly... Cause from there u have lot of clue about those cringy pages...7. Test the Security (very helpful and most important of all only some people know it) :-
This is the best process to identify whether a link is fake... If u doubt that the link is fake, first enter wrong password and see whether it accepts it or not, if it accepts, its fucking fake... If not, it may be real...8. Last but not the least, try not entering sensitive info in HTTP websites, always look for HTTPS websites which provide better security...
9. For persons using computer, hover over the link (do not click) to see where the page will lead u to...I have given some of the examples about how to identify fake links... See them in the pictures attached below...
